About This Class
The main aim of the VTCT Skills (ITEC) Level 2 Certificate for Beauty Specialists students to gain the necessary practical and theoretical skills in order to provide facial skincare and eye treatments to the general public and to gain employment in the beauty therapy industry.
During the class, there will be opportunities for students to focus on the development of their wider skills in a beauty therapy setting, such as communicating with clients, working with others and problem solving. Learners will also develop a range of skills, techniques, personal qualities and attitudes essential for successful performance in employment as a beauty specialist.
This qualification is for students who want to work within the beauty therapy industry. It also provides the related knowledge and understanding required to perform the beauty treatments listed above as well as understanding the structures that the learner will be working over, in particular recognition of skin types, skin diseases and disorders and reasons that may affect whether a client should or should not be treated.

Entry Requirements
16 years old and above
​Obtained a pass in GCE N level equivalent English or Chinese as 2nd language proficiency. Foreign students will be assessed by the course advisor for suitability.

Course Duration
The qualification consists of 1 mandatory unit with a total of 100 hours (12 days) of Guided Learning (GL) to achieve the full qualification.

Examination Requirements
Students must attain 75% attendance and 70 hours of tutorials to be eligible to take the examinations and achieve 60% to pass the examination.
